Shinichiro Ueda, renowned for his unpredictable storytelling and innovative camera work in the hit film “One Cut of the Dead,” has continued to push the boundaries of visual expression. This combination allows participants to fully immerse themselves in the narrative, becoming the protagonist of the story.
The project was developed in collaboration with STYLY’s engineers and creative directors, who transformed Ueda’s filmed content into an XR experience. Additionally, Ueda has meticulously crafted the user experience, taking into consideration the unique characteristics of the event space at Shibuya Sakura Stage, 404 Not Found.
The story centers around three psychometrists who possess the extraordinary ability to read the memories of objects they touch. Participants will step into the shoes of these protagonists and work together to solve a mysterious kidnapping case. In 2009, he founded a film production group and went on to direct more than 10 films, including Rice and Boobs, The Romance Novel Writer, and Take 8, garnering 46 awards, including 20 Grand Prix titles at domestic and international film festivals.
In 2018, his first feature-length film, One Cut of the Dead, became an extraordinary hit, expanding from just 2 theaters to 350 across Japan. In August 2019, he co-directed The Liar’s Game, followed by his second feature-length film, Special Actors, which was released in October of the same year.

His subsequent works include One Hundred Days to Live and DIVOC-12 in 2021, and Popran in 2022.
In 2023, his vertical short film Rental Subordinate won the Grand Prix at the TikTok Short Film Competition at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, further cementing his reputation as a groundbreaking filmmaker.
