‘AIR RACE X’ is an innovative aerial motorsport where eight of the world’s top pilots, equipped with the highest level of flight skills, compete remotely in terms of precision and time while flying race specific aircraft at speeds of up to 400 km/h and with maximum G-forces of 12G. Pilots race on identical tracks set up at their respective bases across the world, and their times are recorded based on flight data gathered from sensors mounted on the aircraft, with an incredible precision of up to 3 cm.
The 2024 season (comprising three races) consists of two types of races: the ‘Remote Round,’ which is viewed through online streaming, and the ‘Digital Round,’ where fans can experience XR-based viewing in actual urban settings. After the two ‘Remote Rounds’ in May (Race 1) and September (Race 2), the final race of the 2024 series, ‘Digital Round’ (Race 3), will be held on Saturday, October 19th, in Tokyo’s Shibuya as a public viewing event.
This year’s historic season will not only determine the winner of each race but also crown the Series Champion, awarded to the pilot who accumulates the most points throughout the season. The current series standings are as follows: 1st Place: Yoshi Muroya (Japan), 2nd Place: Matt Hall (Australia), 3rd Place: Patrick Davidson (South Africa). Who will take home the Champion’s title?
