Tokyo, Japan – Spatial computing platform STYLY is opening a one-of-a-kind café experience where visitors can “purchase immersion” like ordering coffee. Set within the new creative hub 404 Not Found at Shibuya Sakura Stage, the pop-up café—STYLY ULTRA EXPERIENCE CAFÉ—will debut September 21–23 with an exclusive XR mystery experience created in collaboration with acclaimed film director Shinichiro Ueda.
The featured content, titled “The Three Psychometers – Solve the Kidnapping Case”, is an immersive XR mystery combining film, puzzle-solving, and interactive storytelling. Visitors will take on the role of psychic investigators—“psychometers” who can read the memories of objects—as they piece together clues to track down a kidnapper before time runs out.
This marks Director Ueda’s first foray into XR storytelling. Known for his breakout hit One Cut of the Dead and recent success with vertical video shorts, Ueda continues to push creative boundaries. For this project, he partnered with STYLY engineers and directors to craft an original story and adapt the filmed sequences into an interactive XR experience. The narrative unfolds inside the café space, fully synchronized across three headsets for a shared 30-minute session.
Following this limited-time event, the experience will become a permanent feature at 404 Not Found. Additional XR content created by resident indie creators will be featured, offering visitors emotionally resonant, genre-defying experiences year-round.
