STYLY, Inc. recently had the opportunity to host a group of students from Harvard Business School in Tokyo as part of the School’s Immersive Field Course (IFC). IFC courses are designed to offer students in the second year of the 2-year program an experiential learning opportunity in an off-campus setting.
This year over 280 students elected to take the course, a cornerstone of which is the expertise of faculty, who develop course content focused on teaching objectives met primarily through student-centered active learning opportunities, which can include project work, site visits, speakers, and participating in discussions with senior leadership.
Masahiro Yamaguchi, STYLY’s CEO, commented “We are pleased to be working with Harvard Business School to provide students with a real-world learning experience in JAPAN. We feel certain that the students were able to gather additional insights in support of their classroom discussions.”
Harvard Business School is quick to acknowledge that this important learning experience would not be possible without the support and engagement of our hosts and partners.
“We are extremely grateful to STYLY and all the host organizations around the world for all they do on behalf of our students,” said Professor Ramon Casadesus-Masanell, who led the group. “The students benefit immeasurably from this experience and we hope the host organizations do as well.”
This year’s project theme focused on “Tourism,” providing students with the unique opportunity to directly engage with representatives from Japan National Tourism Organization, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Shibuya Ward, and the Shibuya Tourism Association to gain insights into the current state of tourism in Japan.
Additionally, STYLY showcased real-world examples of its XR and spatial computing initiatives, offering students an immersive experience and a platform for in-depth discussions.
By demonstrating the potential of XR experiences in urban settings, STYLY enabled students to deeply understand real-world business challenges and innovation opportunities. Throughout the project, students analyzed these challenges from their own perspectives and culminated their learning by presenting innovative proposals for new applications of XR and spatial computing on the final day.
STYLY remains committed to strengthening collaborations with international educational institutions and contributing to the development of next-generation leaders equipped for the era of spatial computing—an era where technology seamlessly integrates with physical spaces.
The STYLY spatial layer platform enables the creation and distribution of XR content linked to urban and living spaces. Designed for XR and spatial computing, STYLY’s technology aims to unlock the creativity of individuals and businesses and contribute to humanity’s evolution through the creation of new cultures and industries.
